C1/S2B Thermo Vacuum Chamber

Negotiated construction management contract. Facility is a poured-in-place concrete structure to house a $12 million thermo-vacuum testing chamber to be used for satellite manufacturing. Construction included installation of a 20-ton bridge crane on the roof trusses so the chamber installation could proceed concurrently with the completion of the building.

Structure was 110' x 112' x 80' high with no interior floor diaphragms. Approximately 40,000 square feet, built to house the world's largest mailbox space test chamber. Concurrent with Steel High-Bay Annex. Cost: $8 Million, Schedule: 9 Months, Completed: 1998
